2. | مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَىٰ |
Transliteration: | Ma dalla sahibukum wama ghawa |
Yusuf Ali: | Your Companion is neither astray nor being misled. |
Shakir: | Your companion does not err, nor does he go astray; |
Pickthall: | Your comrade erreth not, nor is deceived; |
Mohsin Khan: | Your companion (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) has neither gone astray nor has erred. |
Saheeh: | Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred, |
Urdu: | تمہارا رفیق نہ گمراہ ہوا ہے اورنہ بہکا ہے |

3. | وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ الْهَوَىٰ |
Transliteration: | Wama yantiqu AAani alhawa |
Yusuf Ali: | Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire. |
Shakir: | Nor does he speak out of desire. |
Pickthall: | Nor doth he speak of (his own) desire. |
Mohsin Khan: | Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. |
Saheeh: | Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination. |
Urdu: | اور نہ وہ اپنی خواہش سے کچھ کہتا ہے |

4. | إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْيٌ يُوحَىٰ |
Transliteration: | In huwa illa wahyun yooha |
Yusuf Ali: | It is no less than inspiration sent down to him: |
Shakir: | It is naught but revelation that is revealed, |
Pickthall: | It is naught save an inspiration that is inspired, |
Mohsin Khan: | It is only a Revelation revealed. |
Saheeh: | It is not but a revelation revealed, |
Urdu: | یہ تو وحی ہے جو اس پر آتی ہے |

5. | عَلَّمَهُ شَدِيدُ الْقُوَىٰ |
Transliteration: | AAallamahu shadeedu alquwa |
Yusuf Ali: | He was taught by one Mighty in Power, |
Shakir: | The Lord of Mighty Power has taught him, |
Pickthall: | Which one of mighty powers hath taught him, |
Mohsin Khan: | He has been taught (this Qur'an) by one mighty in power [Jibril (Gabriel)] |
Saheeh: | Taught to him by one intense in strength - |
Urdu: | بڑے طاقتور (جبرائیل) نے اسے سکھایا ہے |

6. | ذُو مِرَّةٍ فَاسْتَوَىٰ |
Transliteration: | Thoo mirratin faistawa |
Yusuf Ali: | Endued with Wisdom: for he appeared (in stately form); |
Shakir: | The Lord of Strength; so he attained completion, |
Pickthall: | One vigorous; and he grew clear to view |
Mohsin Khan: | One free from any defect in body and mind then he (Jibril - Gabriel in his real shape as created by Allah) rose and became stable. |
Saheeh: | One of soundness. And he rose to [his] true form |
Urdu: | جو بڑا زور آور ہے پس وہ قائم ہوا (اصلی صورت میں) |

7. | وَهُوَ بِالْأُفُقِ الْأَعْلَىٰ |
Transliteration: | Wahuwa bialofuqi alaAAla |
Yusuf Ali: | While he was in the highest part of the horizon: |
Shakir: | And he is in the highest part of the horizon. |
Pickthall: | When he was on the uppermost horizon. |
Mohsin Khan: | While he [Jibril (Gabriel)] was in the highest part of the horizon, (Tafsir Ibn Kathir) |
Saheeh: | While he was in the higher [part of the] horizon. |
Urdu: | اور وہ (آسمان کے) اونچے کنارے پر تھا |

8. | ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ |
Transliteration: | Thumma dana fatadalla |
Yusuf Ali: | Then he approached and came closer, |
Shakir: | Then he drew near, then he bowed |
Pickthall: | Then he drew nigh and came down |
Mohsin Khan: | Then he [Jibril (Gabriel)] approached and came closer, |
Saheeh: | Then he approached and descended |
Urdu: | پھر نزدیک ہوا پھر اور بھی قریب ہوا |

9. | فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَىٰ |
Transliteration: | Fakana qaba qawsayni aw adna |
Yusuf Ali: | And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer; |
Shakir: | So he was the measure of two bows or closer still. |
Pickthall: | Till he was (distant) two bows' length or even nearer, |
Mohsin Khan: | And was at a distance of two bows' length or (even) nearer. |
Saheeh: | And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer. |
Urdu: | پھر فاصلہ دو کمان کے برابر تھا یا اس سے بھی کم |

10. | فَأَوْحَىٰ إِلَىٰ عَبْدِهِ مَا أَوْحَىٰ |
Transliteration: | Faawha ila AAabdihi ma awha |
Yusuf Ali: | So did (Allah) convey the inspiration to His Servant- (conveyed) what He (meant) to convey. |
Shakir: | And He revealed to His servant what He revealed. |
Pickthall: | And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed. |
Mohsin Khan: | So (Allah) revealed to His slave [Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم through Jibril (Gabriel) عليه السلام] whatever He revealed. |
Saheeh: | And he revealed to His Servant what he revealed. |
Urdu: | پھر اس نے الله کےبندے کے دل میں القا کیا جو کچھ القا کیا دل نے |

11. | مَا كَذَبَ الْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰ |
Transliteration: | Ma kathaba alfuadu ma raa |
Yusuf Ali: | The (Prophet's) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw. |
Shakir: | The heart was not untrue in (making him see) what he saw. |
Pickthall: | The heart lied not (in seeing) what it saw. |
Mohsin Khan: | The (Prophet's) heart lied not in what he (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) saw. |
Saheeh: | The heart did not lie [about] what it saw. |
Urdu: | جھوٹ نہیں کہا تھا جو دیکھا تھا |
