مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَىٰ
Transliteration 2: Ma dalla sahibukum wama ghawa
Yusuf Ali 2: Your Companion is neither astray nor being misled.
Shakir 2: Your companion does not err, nor does he go astray;
Pickthal 2: Your comrade erreth not, nor is deceived;
Mohsin Khan: 2: Your companion (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) has neither gone astray nor has erred.
Saheeh: 2: Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred,
Urdu 2: تمہارا رفیق نہ گمراہ ہوا ہے اورنہ بہکا ہے


3  
وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ الْهَوَىٰ
Transliteration 3: Wama yantiqu AAani alhawa
Yusuf Ali 3: Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire.
Shakir 3: Nor does he speak out of desire.
Pickthal 3: Nor doth he speak of (his own) desire.
Mohsin Khan: 3: Nor does he speak of (his own) desire.
Saheeh: 3: Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination.
Urdu 3: اور نہ وہ اپنی خواہش سے کچھ کہتا ہے


4  
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْيٌ يُوحَىٰ
Transliteration 4: In huwa illa wahyun yooha
Yusuf Ali 4: It is no less than inspiration sent down to him:
Shakir 4: It is naught but revelation that is revealed,
Pickthal 4: It is naught save an inspiration that is inspired,
Mohsin Khan: 4: It is only a Revelation revealed.
Saheeh: 4: It is not but a revelation revealed,
Urdu 4: یہ تو وحی ہے جو اس پر آتی ہے


5  
عَلَّمَهُ شَدِيدُ الْقُوَىٰ
Transliteration 5: AAallamahu shadeedu alquwa
Yusuf Ali 5: He was taught by one Mighty in Power,
Shakir 5: The Lord of Mighty Power has taught him,
Pickthal 5: Which one of mighty powers hath taught him,
Mohsin Khan: 5: He has been taught (this Qur'an) by one mighty in power [Jibril (Gabriel)]
Saheeh: 5: Taught to him by one intense in strength -
Urdu 5: بڑے طاقتور (جبرائیل) نے اسے سکھایا ہے


6  
ذُو مِرَّةٍ فَاسْتَوَىٰ
Transliteration 6: Thoo mirratin faistawa
Yusuf Ali 6: Endued with Wisdom: for he appeared (in stately form);
Shakir 6: The Lord of Strength; so he attained completion,
Pickthal 6: One vigorous; and he grew clear to view
Mohsin Khan: 6: One free from any defect in body and mind then he (Jibril - Gabriel in his real shape as created by Allah) rose and became stable.
Saheeh: 6: One of soundness. And he rose to [his] true form
Urdu 6: جو بڑا زور آور ہے پس وہ قائم ہوا (اصلی صورت میں)


7  
وَهُوَ بِالْأُفُقِ الْأَعْلَىٰ
Transliteration 7: Wahuwa bialofuqi alaAAla
Yusuf Ali 7: While he was in the highest part of the horizon:
Shakir 7: And he is in the highest part of the horizon.
Pickthal 7: When he was on the uppermost horizon.
Mohsin Khan: 7: While he [Jibril (Gabriel)] was in the highest part of the horizon, (Tafsir Ibn Kathir)
Saheeh: 7: While he was in the higher [part of the] horizon.
Urdu 7: اور وہ (آسمان کے) اونچے کنارے پر تھا


8  
ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ
Transliteration 8: Thumma dana fatadalla
Yusuf Ali 8: Then he approached and came closer,
Shakir 8: Then he drew near, then he bowed
Pickthal 8: Then he drew nigh and came down
Mohsin Khan: 8: Then he [Jibril (Gabriel)] approached and came closer,
Saheeh: 8: Then he approached and descended
Urdu 8: پھر نزدیک ہوا پھر اور بھی قریب ہوا


9  
فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَىٰ
Transliteration 9: Fakana qaba qawsayni aw adna
Yusuf Ali 9: And was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or (even) nearer;
Shakir 9: So he was the measure of two bows or closer still.
Pickthal 9: Till he was (distant) two bows' length or even nearer,
Mohsin Khan: 9: And was at a distance of two bows' length or (even) nearer.
Saheeh: 9: And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer.
Urdu 9: پھر فاصلہ دو کمان کے برابر تھا یا اس سے بھی کم


10  
فَأَوْحَىٰ إِلَىٰ عَبْدِهِ مَا أَوْحَىٰ
Transliteration 10: Faawha ila AAabdihi ma awha
Yusuf Ali 10: So did (Allah) convey the inspiration to His Servant- (conveyed) what He (meant) to convey.
Shakir 10: And He revealed to His servant what He revealed.
Pickthal 10: And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed.
Mohsin Khan: 10: So (Allah) revealed to His slave [Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم through Jibril (Gabriel) عليه السلام] whatever He revealed.
Saheeh: 10: And he revealed to His Servant what he revealed.
Urdu 10: پھر اس نے الله کےبندے کے دل میں القا کیا جو کچھ القا کیا دل نے


11  
مَا كَذَبَ الْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰ
Transliteration 11: Ma kathaba alfuadu ma raa
Yusuf Ali 11: The (Prophet's) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw.
Shakir 11: The heart was not untrue in (making him see) what he saw.
Pickthal 11: The heart lied not (in seeing) what it saw.
Mohsin Khan: 11: The (Prophet's) heart lied not in what he (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) saw.
Saheeh: 11: The heart did not lie [about] what it saw.
Urdu 11: جھوٹ نہیں کہا تھا جو دیکھا تھا
