18  
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
Transliteration 18: Kaththabat AAadun fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri
Yusuf Ali 18: The 'Ad (people) (too) rejected (Truth): then how terrible was My Penalty and My Warning?
Shakir 18: Ad treated (the truth) as a lie, so how (great) was My punishment and My warning!
Pickthal 18: (The tribe of) A'ad rejected warnings. Then how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings.
Mohsin Khan: 18: 'Ad (people) belied (their Prophet, Hud); then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?
Saheeh: 18: 'Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
Urdu 18: قوم عاد نے بھی جھٹلایا تھا پھر (دیکھا) ہمارا عذاب اور ڈرانا کیسا تھا

إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي يَوْمِ نَحْسٍ مُّسْتَمِرٍّ
Transliteration 19: Inna arsalna AAalayhim reehan sarsaran fee yawmi nahsin mustamirrin
Yusuf Ali 19: For We sent against them a furious wind, on a Day of violent Disaster,
Shakir 19: Surely We sent on them a tornado in a day of bitter ill-luck
Pickthal 19: Lo! We let loose on them a raging wind on a day of constant calamity,
Mohsin Khan: 19: Verily, We sent against them a furious wind of harsh voice on a day of evil omen and continuous calamity.
Saheeh: 19: Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune,
Urdu 19: بے شک ہم نے ایک دن سخت آندھی بھیجی تھی جس کی نحوست دائمی تھی

تَنزِعُ النَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ مُّنقَعِرٍ
Transliteration 20: TanziAAu alnnasa kaannahum aAAjazu nakhlin munqaAAirin
Yusuf Ali 20: Plucking out men as if they were roots of palm-trees torn up (from the ground).
Shakir 20: Tearing men away as if they were the trunks of palm-trees torn up.
Pickthal 20: Sweeping men away as though they were uprooted trunks of palm-trees.
Mohsin Khan: 20: Plucking out men as if they were uprooted stems of date-palms.
Saheeh: 20: Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted.
Urdu 20: جو لوگوں کو ایسا پھینک رہی تھی کہ گویا وہ کھجور کے جڑ سے اکھڑے ہوئے پیڑ ہیں


21  
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
Transliteration 21: Fakayfa kana AAathabee wanuthuri
Yusuf Ali 21: Yea, how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning!
Shakir 21: How (great) was then My punishment and My warning!
Pickthal 21: Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings!
Mohsin Khan: 21: Then, how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings?
Saheeh: 21: And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
Urdu 21: پھر (دیکھا) ہمارا عذاب اور ڈرانا کیسا تھا
