(1) Not upon you (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) is their guidance, but Allah guides whom He wills. And whatever you spend in good, it is for yourselves, when you spend not except seeking Allah's countenance. And whatever you spend in good, it will be repaid to you in full, and you shall not be wronged.

(2) For those who have done good is the best (reward, i.e. Paradise) and even more (i.e. having the honour of glancing at the countenance of Allah جل جلاله). Neither darkness nor dust nor any humiliating disgrace shall cover their faces. They are the dwellers of Paradise, they will abide therein forever.

(3) And those who remain patient, seeking their Lord's countenance, perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and spend out of that which We have bestowed on them, secretly and openly, and defend evil with good, for such there is a good end.

(4) So give to the kindred his due, and to Al-Miskin (the poor) and to the wayfarer. That is best for those who seek Allah's countenance; and it is they who will be successful.

(5) And that which you give in gift (to others), in order that it may increase (your wealth by expecting to get a better one in return) from other people's property, has no increase with Allah; but that which you give in Zakat (sadaqa - charity etc.) seeking Allah's countenance, then those, they shall have manifold increase.

(6) (Saying): "We feed you seeking Allah's countenance only. We wish for no reward, nor thanks from you.

(7) Except to seek the countenance of his Lord, the Most High.
