(1) Glorified and Exalted be He! High above (the great falsehood) that they say! (i.e. forged statements that there are other gods along with Allah, but He is Allah, the One, the Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need. He begets not, nor was He begotten, and there is none comparable or coequal unto Him).
(2) It befits not (the Majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son [this refers to the slander of Christians against Allah, by saying that 'Îsa (Jesus) is the son of Allah]. Glorified (and Exalted) be He (above all that they associate with Him). When He decrees a thing, He only says to it: "Be!" - and it is.
(3) But it is not suitable for (the Majesty of) the Most Gracious (Allah) that He should beget a son (or offspring or children).
(4) No son (or offspring) did Allah beget, nor is there any ilah (god) along with Him. (If there had been many gods), then each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have tried to overcome others! Glorified be Allah above all that they attribute to Him!
(5) "If You leave them, they will mislead Your slaves, and they will beget none but wicked disbelievers.
(6) And by the begetter (i.e. Adam عليه السلام) and that which he begot (i.e. his progeny).
(7) "He begets not, nor was He begotten.
