(43) But when he came to them with Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations) behold, they laughed at them.

(44) But when We removed the torment from them, behold, they broke their covenant (that they will believe if We remove the torment from them).

(45) And when the son of Maryam (Mary) is quoted as an example [i.e. 'Îsa (Jesus) is worshipped like their idols], behold, your people cry aloud (laugh out at the example).

(46) behold! You are those who are called to spend in the Cause of Allah, yet among you are some who are niggardly. And whoever is niggardly, it is only at the expense of his ownself. But Allah is Rich (Free of all needs), and you (mankind) are poor. And if you turn away (from Islam and the obedience to Allah), He will exchange you for some other people and they will not be your likes.

(47) When behold, they find themselves on the surface of the earth alive after their death,

(48) Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him!
