(847) has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)?

(848) As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honour and bounties, then he says (in exultation): "My Lord has honoured me."

(849) But when He tries him by straitening his means of life, he says: "My Lord has humiliated me!"

(850) But he has not attempted to pass on the path that is steep (i.e. the path which will lead to goodness and success).
