(11) Have you not considered him (Namrud) who disputed with ibrahim about his Lord, because Allah had given him the kingdom? When ibrahim said: My Lord is He who gives life and causes to die, he said: I give life and cause death. ibrahim said: So surely Allah causes the sun to rise from the east, then make it rise from the west; thus he who disbelieved was confounded; and Allah does not guide aright the unjust people.

(12) And when ibrahim said: My Lord! show me how Thou givest life to the dead, He said: What! and do you not believe? He said: Yes, but that my heart may be at ease. He said: Then take four of the birds, then train them to follow you, then place on every mountain a part of them, then call them, they will come to you flying; and know that Allah is Mighty, Wise.

(13) Surely Allah chose Adam and Nuh and the descendants of ibrahim and the descendants of Imran above the nations.

(14) O followers of the Book! why do you dispute about ibrahim, when the Taurat and the Injeel were not revealed till after him; do you not then understand?

(15) ibrahim was not a Jew nor a Christian but he was (an) upright (man), a Muslim, and he was not one of the polytheists.

(16) Most surely the nearest of people to ibrahim are those who followed him and this Prophet and those who believe and Allah is the guardian of the believers.

(17) Say: We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us, and what was revealed to ibrahim and Ismail and Ishaq and Yaqoub and the tribes, and what was given to Musa and Isa and to the prophets from their Lord; we do not make any distinction between any of them, and to Him do we submit.

(18) Say: Allah has spoken the truth, therefore follow the religion of ibrahim, the upright one; and he was not one of the polytheists.

(19) In it are clear signs, the standing place of ibrahim, and whoever enters it shall be secure, and pilgrimage to the House is incumbent upon men for the sake of Allah, (upon) every one who is able to undertake the journey to it; and whoever disbelieves, then surely Allah is Self-sufficient, above any need of the worlds.

(20) Or do they envy the people for what Allah has given them of His grace? But indeed We have given to ibrahim's children the Book and the wisdom, and We have given them a grand kingdom.
