(32) O ibrahim! leave off this, surely the decree of your Lord has come to pass, and surely there must come to them a chastisement that cannot be averted.

(33) And thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of sayings and make His favor complete to you and to the children of Yaqoub, as He made it complete before to your fathers, ibrahim and Ishaq; surely your Lord is Knowing, Wise.

(34) And I follow the religion of my fathers, ibrahim and Ishaq and Yaqoub; it beseems us not that we should associate aught with Allah; this is by Allah's grace upon us and on mankind, but most people do not give thanks:

(35) And when ibrahim said: My Lord! make this city secure, and save me and my sons from worshipping idols:

(36) And inform them of the guests of ibrahim:

(37) Surely ibrahim was an exemplar, obedient to Allah, upright, and he was not of the polytheists.

(38) Then We revealed to you: Follow the faith of ibrahim, the upright one, and he was not of the polytheists.

(39) And mention ibrahim in the Book; surely he was a truthful man, a prophet.

(40) He said: Do you dislike my gods, O ibrahim? If you do not desist I will certainly revile you, and leave me for a time.
