(31) When We sent to them two, they rejected both of them, then We strengthened (them) with a third, so they said: Surely we are apostles to you.

(33) Those before them rejected (prophets), therefore there came to them the chastisement from whence they perceived not.

(34) Aye! My communications came to you, but you rejected them, and you were proud and you were one of the unbelievers.

(35) The people of Nuh and the parties after them rejected (prophets) before them, and every nation purposed against their apostle to destroy him, and they disputed by means of the falsehood that they might thereby render null the truth, therefore I destroyed them; how was then My retribution!

(37) That was because there came to them their apostles with clear arguments, but they rejected (them), therefore Allah destroyed them; surely He is Strong, Severe in retribution.

(38) Nay, they rejected the truth when it came to them, so they are (now) in a state of confusion.

(39) (Others) before them rejected (prophets): the people of Nuh and the dwellers of Ar-Rass and Samood,

(40) And the dwellers of the grove and the people of Tuba; all rejected the apostles, so My threat came to pass.
