(31) Surely We established him in the land and granted him means of access to every thing.

(32) He said: That in which my Lord has established me is better, therefore you only help me with workers, I will make a fortified barrier between you and them;

(33) Had We wished to make a diversion, We would have made it from before Ourselves: by no means would We do (it).

(34) And should the truth follow their low desires, surely the heavens and the earth and all those who are therein would have perished. Nay! We have brought to them their reminder, but from their reminder they turn aside.

(35) Who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six periods, and He is firmly established on the throne of authority; the Beneficent Allah, so ask respecting it one aware.

(36) And we are not going to be punished.

(37) So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished.

(38) So We gave him back to his mother that her eye might be refreshed, and that she might no grieve, and that she might know that the promise of Allah is true, but most of them do not know.

(39) So each We punished for his sin; of them was he on whom We sent down a violent storm, and of them was he whom the rumbling overtook, and of them was he whom We made to be swallowed up by the earth, and of them was he whom We drowned; and it did not beseem Allah that He should be unjust to them, but they were unjust to their own souls.

(40) The Romans are vanquished,
