(21) And do Thou deliver us by thy mercy from the unbelieving people.

(22) And Musa said: Our Lord! surely Thou hast given to Firon and his chiefs finery and riches in this world's life, to this end, our Lord, that they lead (people) astray from thy way: Our Lord! destroy their riches and harden their hearts so that they believe not until they see the painful punishment.

(23) And Nuh cried out to his Lord and said: My Lord! surely my son is of my family, and thy promise is surely true, and Thou art the most just of the judges.

(24) O our Lord! surely I have settled a part of my offspring in a valley unproductive of fruit near thy Sacred House, our Lord! that they may keep up prayer; therefore make the hearts of some people yearn towards them and provide them with fruits; haply they may be grateful:

(25) And warn people of the day when the chastisement shall come to them, then those who were unjust will say: O our Lord! respite us to a near term, (so) we shall respond to thy call and follow the apostles. What! did you not swear before (that) there will be no passing away for you!

(26) Except thy servants from among them, the devoted ones.

(27) And surely I fear my cousins after me, and my wife is barren, therefore grant me from thyself an heir,

(28) And it is not worthy of the Beneficent Allah that He should take (to Himself) a son.

(29) And had We destroyed them with chastisement before this, they would certainly have said: O our Lord! why didst Thou not send to us an apostle, for then we should have followed thy communications before that we met disgrace and shame.

(30) So he smiled, wondering at her word, and said: My Lord! grant me that I should be grateful for thy favor which Thou hast bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I should do good such as Thou art pleased with, and make me enter, by thy mercy, into thy servants, the good ones.
