(141) And whoso respondeth not to allah's summoner he can nowise escape in the earth, and he hath no protecting friends instead of Him. Such are in error manifest.

(142) He it is Who sent down peace of reassurance into the hearts of the believers that they might add faith unto their faith. allah's are the hosts of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is ever Knower, Wise -

(143) allah's are the hosts of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is ever Mighty, Wise.

(144) And allah's is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. He forgiveth whom He will, and punisheth whom He will. And Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.

(145) Is not the time ripe for the hearts of those who believe to submit to allah's reminder and to the truth which is revealed, that they become not as those who received the scripture of old but the term was prolonged for them and so their hearts were hardened, and many of them are evil-livers.

(146) Then We caused Our messengers to follow in their footsteps; and We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow, and gave him the Gospel, and placed compassion and mercy in the hearts of those who followed him. But monasticism they invented - We ordained it not for them - only seeking allah's pleasure, and they observed it not with right observance. So We give those of them who believe their reward, but many of them are evil-livers.

(147) That the People of the Scripture may know that they control naught of the bounty of Allah, but that the bounty is in allah's hand to give to whom He will. And Allah is of Infinite Bounty.

(148) Lo! Conspiracy is only of the devil, that he may vex those who believe; but he can harm them not at all unless by allah's leave. In Allah let believers put their trust.

(149) Thou wilt not find folk who believe in Allah and the Last Day loving those who oppose Allah and His messenger, even though they be their fathers or their sons or their brethren or their clan. As for such, He hath written faith upon their hearts and hath strengthened them with a Spirit from Him, and He will bring them into Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide. Allah is well pleased with them, and they are well pleased with Him. They are allah's party. Lo! is it not allah's party who are the successful?

(150) Whatsoever palm-trees ye cut down or left standing on their roots, it was by allah's leave, in order that He might confound the evil-livers.
