Or have We given them a Book from which they (can derive) clear (evidence)?- Nay, the wrong-doers promise each other nothing but delusions.

(2122) It is Allah Who sustains the heavens and the earth, lest they cease (to function): and if they should fail, there is none - not one - can sustain them thereafter: Verily He is Most Forbearing, Oft-Forgiving.

(2123) They swore their strongest oaths by Allah that if a warner came to them, they would follow his guidance better than any (other) of the Peoples: But when a warner came to them, it has only increased their flight (from righteousness),-

(2124) Do they not travel through the earth, and see what was the End of those before them,- though they were superior to them in strength? Nor is Allah to be frustrated by anything whatever in the heavens or on earth: for He is All-Knowing. All-Powerful.

(2125) The Word is proved true against the greater part of them: for they do not believe.

(2126) And We have put a bar in front of them and a bar behind them, and further, We have covered them up; so that they cannot see.

(2127) The same is it to them whether thou admonish them or thou do not admonish them: they will not believe.

(2128) Verily We shall give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before and that which they leave behind, and of all things have We taken account in a clear Book (of evidence).

(2129) Set forth to them, by way of a parable, the (story of) the Companions of the City. behold!, there came messengers to it.

(2130) When We (first) sent to them two messengers, they rejected them: But We strengthened them with a third: they said, "Truly, we have been sent on a mission to you."
