(1) They [think to] deceive Allah and those who believe, but they deceive not except themselves and perceive [it] not.

(2) Unquestionably, it is they who are the corrupters, but they perceive [it] not.

(3) And do not say about those who are killed in the way of Allah, "They are dead." Rather, they are alive, but you perceive [it] not.

(4) A faction of the people of the Scripture wish they could mislead you. But they do not mislead except themselves, and they perceive [it] not.

(5) And test the orphans [in their abilities] until they reach marriageable age. Then if you perceive in them sound judgement, release their property to them. And do not consume it excessively and quickly, [anticipating] that they will grow up. And whoever, [when acting as guardian], is self-sufficient should refrain [from taking a fee]; and whoever is poor - let him take according to what is acceptable. Then when you release their property to them, bring witnesses upon them. And sufficient is Allah as Accountant.

(6) And they prevent [others] from him and are [themselves] remote from him. And they do not destroy except themselves, but they perceive [it] not.

(7) Vision perceives Him not, but He perceives [all] vision; and He is the Subtle, the Acquainted.

(8) And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths that if a sign came to them, they would surely believe in it. Say, "The signs are only with Allah." And what will make you perceive that even if a sign came, they would not believe.

(9) And thus We have placed within every city the greatest of its criminals to conspire therein. But they conspire not except against themselves, and they perceive [it] not.

(10) Then We exchanged in place of the bad [condition], good, until they increased [and prospered] and said, "Our fathers [also] were touched with hardship and ease." So We seized them suddenly while they did not perceive.
