(21) And We brought the Children of Israel across the sea, and pharaoh with his hosts pursued them in rebellion and transgression, till, when the (fate of) drowning overtook him, he exclaimed: I believe that there is no Allah save Him in Whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of those who surrender (unto Him).

(22) Unto pharaoh and his chiefs, but they did follow the command of pharaoh, and the command of pharaoh was no right guide.

(23) And (remind them) how Moses said unto his people: Remember Allah's favour unto you when He delivered you from pharaoh's folk who were afflicting you with dreadful torment, and were slaying your sons and sparing your women; that was a tremendous trial from your Lord.

(24) And verily We gave unto Moses nine tokens, clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty). Do but ask the Children of Israel how he came unto them, then pharaoh said unto him: Lo! I deem thee one bewitched, O Moses.

(25) He said: In truth thou knowest that none sent down these (portents) save the Lord of the heavens and the earth as proofs, and lo! (for my part) I deem thee lost, O pharaoh.

(26) Go thou unto pharaoh! Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds).

(27) Go, both of you, unto pharaoh. Lo! he hath transgressed (the bounds).

(28) (pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses?

(29) Then pharaoh went and gathered his strength, then came (to the appointed tryst).

(30) (pharaoh) said: Ye put faith in him before I give you leave. Lo! he is your chief who taught you magic. Now surely I shall cut off your hands and your feet alternately, and I shall crucify you on the trunks of palm trees, and ye shall know for certain which of us hath sterner and more lasting punishment.
