(1) They say, "Allah has taken a son." Exalted is He! rather, to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. All are devoutly obedient to Him,
(2) They say, "Be Jews or Christians [so] you will be guided." Say, "rather, [we follow] the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth, and he was not of the polytheists."
(3) And do not say about those who are killed in the way of Allah, "They are dead." rather, they are alive, but you perceive [it] not.
(4) And when it is said to them, "Follow what Allah has revealed," they say, "rather, we will follow that which we found our fathers doing." Even though their fathers understood nothing, nor were they guided?
(5) Or [consider such an example] as the one who passed by a township which had fallen into ruin. He said, "How will Allah bring this to life after its death?" So Allah caused him to die for a hundred years; then He revived him. He said, "How long have you remained?" The man said, "I have remained a day or part of a day." He said, "rather, you have remained one hundred years. Look at your food and your drink; it has not changed with time. And look at your donkey; and We will make you a sign for the people. And look at the bones [of this donkey] - how We raise them and then We cover them with flesh." And when it became clear to him, he said, "I know that Allah is over all things competent."
(6) Let not believers take disbelievers as allies rather than believers. And whoever [of you] does that has nothing with Allah, except when taking precaution against them in prudence. And Allah warns you of Himself, and to Allah is the [final] destination.
(7) It is not for a human [prophet] that Allah should give him the Scripture and authority and prophethood and then he would say to the people, "Be servants to me rather than Allah," but [instead, he would say], "Be pious scholars of the Lord because of what you have taught of the Scripture and because of what you have studied."
(8) And never think of those who have been killed in the cause of Allah as dead. rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision,
(9) And let not those who [greedily] withhold what Allah has given them of His bounty ever think that it is better for them. rather, it is worse for them. Their necks will be encircled by what they withheld on the Day of Resurrection. And to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, with what you do, is [fully] Acquainted.
(10) Have you not seen those who claim themselves to be pure? rather, Allah purifies whom He wills, and injustice is not done to them, [even] as much as a thread [inside a date seed].
