(1) And We made it a deterrent punishment for those who were present and those who succeeded [them] and a lesson for those who fear Allah.

(2) They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the new moons. Say, "They are measurements of time for the people and for Hajj." And it is not righteousness to enter houses from the back, but righteousness is [in] one who fears Allah. And enter houses from their doors. And fear Allah that you may succeed.

(3) Those messengers - some of them We caused to exceed others. Among them were those to whom Allah spoke, and He raised some of them in degree. And We gave Jesus, the Son of Mary, clear proofs, and We supported him with the Pure Spirit. If Allah had willed, those [generations] succeeding them would not have fought each other after the clear proofs had come to them. But they differed, and some of them believed and some of them disbelieved. And if Allah had willed, they would not have fought each other, but Allah does what He intends.

(4) O you who have believed, fear Allah and seek the means [of nearness] to Him and strive in His cause that you may succeed.

(5) And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allah a lie or denies His verses? Indeed, the wrongdoers will not succeed.

(6) Say, "O my people, work according to your position; [for] indeed, I am working. And you are going to know who will have succession in the home. Indeed, the wrongdoers will not succeed.

(7) Then do you wonder that there has come to you a reminder from your Lord through a man from among you, that he may warn you? And remember when He made you successors after the people of Noah and increased you in stature extensively. So remember the favors of Allah that you might succeed.

(8) So who is more unjust than he who invents a lie about Allah or denies His signs? Indeed, the criminals will not succeed

(9) Say, "Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allah will not succeed."

(10) Moses said, "Do you say [thus] about the truth when it has come to you? Is this magic? But magicians will not succeed."
