(53) So there came the sorcerers to Pharaoh: They said, "of course we shall have a (suitable) reward if we win!"

(54) Those who reject Our signs and the meeting in the Hereafter,- vain are their deeds: Can they expect to be rewarded except as they have wrought?

(55) As to those who hold fast by the Book and establish regular prayer,- never shall We suffer the reward of the righteous to perish.

(56) And know ye that your possessions and your progeny are but a trial; and that it is Allah with Whom lies your highest reward.

(57) But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in Allah: for He is One that heareth and knoweth (all things).

(58) Go ye, then, for four months, backwards and forwards, (as ye will), throughout the land, but know ye that ye cannot frustrate Allah (by your falsehood) but that Allah will cover with shame those who reject Him.

(59) They will dwell therein for ever. Verily in Allah's presence is a reward, the greatest (of all).

(60) But Allah did pour His calm on the Messenger and on the Believers, and sent down forces which ye saw not: He punished the Unbelievers; thus doth He reward those without Faith.
