(11) And when they came (again) before him (Joseph) they said: O ruler! Misfortune hath touched us and our folk, and we bring but poor merchandise, so fill for us the measure and be charitable unto us. Lo! Allah will requite the charitable,

(12) Allah knoweth that which every female beareth and that which the wombs absorb and that which they grow. And everything with Him is measured.

(13) He sendeth down water from the sky, so that valleys flow according to their measure, and the flood beareth (on its surface) swelling foam - from that which they smelt in the fire in order to make ornaments and tools riseth a foam like unto it - thus Allah coineth (the similitude of) the true and the false. Then, as for the foam, it passeth away as scum upon the banks, while, as for that which is of use to mankind, it remaineth in the earth. Thus Allah coineth the similitudes.

(14) And there is not a thing but with Us are the stores thereof. And we send it not down save in appointed measure.

(15) Fill the measure when ye measure, and weigh with a right balance; that is meet, and better in the end.

(16) They measure not Allah His rightful measure. Lo! Allah is Strong, Almighty.

(17) And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it lodging in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it.

(18) He unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, He hath chosen no son nor hath He any partner in the Sovereignty. He hath created everything and hath meted out for it a measure.

(19) Give full measure, and be not of those who give less (than the due).

(20) He directeth the ordinance from the heaven unto the earth; then it ascendeth unto Him in a Day, whereof the measure is a thousand years of that ye reckon.
