(72) "The ways of the heavens, and I may look upon the Ilah (God) of Musa (Moses): But verily, I think him to be a liar." Thus it was made fair-seeming, in Fir'aun's (pharaoh) eyes, the evil of his deeds, and he was hindered from the (Right) Path; and the plot of Fir'aun (pharaoh) led to nothing but loss and destruction (for him).

(73) So Allah saved him from the evils that they plotted (against him), while an evil torment encompassed Fir'aun's (pharaoh) people.

(74) The Fire, they are exposed to it, morning and afternoon. And on the Day when the Hour will be established (it will be said to the angels): "Cause Fir'aun's (pharaoh) people to enter the severest torment!"

(75) And indeed We did send Musa (Moses) with Our Ayat (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) to Fir'aun (pharaoh) and his chiefs (inviting them to Allah's religion of Islam) He said: "Verily, I am a Messenger of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists)."

(76) And Fir'aun (pharaoh) proclaimed among his people (saying): "O my people! Is not mine the dominion of Egypt, and these rivers flowing underneath me. See you not then?

(77) Thus he [Fir'aun (pharaoh)] befooled (and misled) his people, and they obeyed him. Verily, they were ever a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

(78) And indeed We tried before them Fir'aun's (pharaoh) people, when there came to them a noble Messenger [i.e. Musa (Moses) عليه السلام],

(79) How many of gardens and springs that they [Fir'aun's (pharaoh) people] left behind,

(80) From Fir'aun (pharaoh); verily he was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins).
