They will reply, "If we had received the Guidance of Allah, we should have given it to you: to us it makes no difference (now) whether we rage, or bear (these torments) with patience: for ourselves there is no way of escape."

(13) Your Allah is one Allah: as to those who believe not in the Hereafter, their hearts refuse to know, and they are arrogant.

(14) Undoubtedly Allah doth know what they conceal, and what they reveal: verily He loveth not the arrogant.

(15) "So enter the gates of Hell, to dwell therein. Thus evil indeed is the abode of the arrogant."

(16) And to Allah doth obeisance all that is in the heavens and on earth, whether moving (living) creatures or the angels: for none are arrogant (before their Lord).

(17) To Pharaoh and his Chiefs: But these behaved insolently: they were an arrogant people.

(18) Such as fear not the meeting with Us (for Judgment) say: "Why are not the angels sent down to us, or (why) do we not see our Lord?" Indeed they have an arrogant conceit of themselves, and mighty is the insolence of their impiety!

(19) "'Be ye not arrogant against me, but come to me in submission (to the true Religion).'"

(20) And he was arrogant and insolent in the land, beyond reason,- He and his hosts: they thought that they would not have to return to Us!
