(1) And when We gave unto Moses the Scripture and the criterion (of right and wrong), that ye might be led aright.

(2) The month of Ramadan in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the criterion (of right and wrong). And whosoever of you is present, let him fast the month, and whosoever of you is sick or on a journey, (let him fast the same) number of other days. Allah desireth for you ease; He desireth not hardship for you; and (He desireth) that ye should complete the period, and that ye should magnify Allah for having guided you, and that peradventure ye may be thankful.

(3) Aforetime, for a guidance to mankind; and hath revealed the criterion (of right and wrong). Lo! those who disbelieve the revelations of Allah, theirs will be a heavy doom. Allah is Mighty, Able to Requite (the wrong).

(4) And We verily gave Moses and Aaron the criterion (of right and wrong) and a light and a Reminder for those who keep from evil,

(5) Blessed is He Who hath revealed unto His slave the criterion (of right and wrong), that he may be a warner to the peoples.
