(11) So when they ride in the ships they call upon Allah, being sincerely obedient to Him, but when He brings them safe to the land, lo! they associate others (with Him);

(12) And when a wave like mountains covers them they call upon Allah, being sincere to Him in obedience, but when He brings them safe to the land, some of them follow the middle course; and none denies Our signs but every perfidious, ungrateful one.

(13) Surely We have revealed to you the Book with the truth, therefore serve Allah, being sincere to Him in obedience.

(14) Now, surely, sincere obedience is due to Allah (alone) and (as for) those who take guardians besides Him, (saying), We do not serve them save that they may make us nearer to Allah, surely Allah will judge between them in that in which they differ; surely Allah does not guide him aright who is a liar, ungrateful.

(15) Say: I am commanded that I should serve Allah, being sincere to Him in obedience.

(16) Say: Allah (it is Whom) I serve, being sincere to Him in my obedience:

(17) Therefore call upon Allah, being sincere to Him in obedience, though the unbelievers are averse:

(18) He is the Living, there is no god but He, therefore call on Him, being sincere to Him in obedience; (all) praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

(19) And since you were unjust, it will not profit you this day that you are sharers in the chastisement.

(20) And certainly We had established them in what We have not established you in, and We had given-- them ears and eyes and hearts, but neither their ears, nor their eyes, nor their hearts availed them aught, since they denied the communications of Allah, and that which they mocked encompassed them.
