(301) O ye who believe! (302) Before them was denied (the Hereafter) by the People of Noah, the Companions of the Rass, the Thamud,

(303) And during part of the night, (also,) celebrate His praises, and (so likewise) after the postures of adoration.

(304) Nay, shall man have (just) anything he hankers after?

(305) How many-so-ever be the angels in the heavens, their intercession will avail nothing except after Allah has given leave for whom He pleases and that he is acceptable to Him.

(306) Those who believe not in the Hereafter, name the angels with female names.

(307) And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter).

(308) No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication:

(309) And what cause have ye why ye should not spend in the cause of Allah?- For to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. Not equal among you are those who spent (freely) and fought, before the Victory, (with those who did so later). Those are higher in rank than those who spent (freely) and fought afterwards. But to all has Allah promised a goodly (reward). And Allah is well acquainted with all that ye do.

(310) Know ye (all) that Allah giveth life to the earth after its death! already have We shown the Signs plainly to you, that ye may learn wisdom.
