(16) When Our Messengers came to Abraham with the good news, they said: "We are indeed going to destroy the people of this township: for truly they are (addicted to) crime."

(17) "For we are going to bring down on the people of this township a Punishment from heaven, because they have been wickedly rebellious."

(18) Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire!

(19) But their professing the Faith when they (actually) saw Our Punishment was not going to profit them. (Such has been) Allah's Way of dealing with His Servants (from the most ancient times). And even thus did the Rejecters of Allah perish (utterly)!
