(53) It is not your wealth nor your sons, that will bring you nearer to Us in degree: but only those who believe and work righteousness - these are the ones for whom there is a multiplied Reward for their deeds, while secure they (reside) in the dwellings on high!

(54) And he makes comparisons for Us, and forgets his own (origin and) Creation: He says, "Who can give life to (dry) bones and decomposed ones (at that)?"

(55) Now ask them their opinion: Is it that thy Lord has (only) daughters, and they have sons?-

(56) Did He (then) choose daughters rather than sons?

(57) "What! has the Message been sent to him - (Of all persons) among us?"... but they are in doubt concerning My (Own) Message! Nay, they have not yet tasted My Punishment!

(58) Now, when he came to them in Truth, from Us, they said, "Slay the sons of those who believe with him, and keep alive their females," but the plots of Unbelievers (end) in nothing but errors (and delusions)!...

(59) And no one will be granted such goodness except those who exercise patience and self-restraint,- none but persons of the greatest good fortune.

(60) What! has He taken daughters out of what He himself creates, and granted to you sons for choice?
