And Allah is not unaware of what you do.

(2) Verily! It is Allah Who causes the seed-grain and the fruit-stone (like date-stone) to split and sprout. He brings forth the living from the dead, and it is He Who brings forth the dead from the living. Such is Allah, then how are you deluded away from the truth?

(3) Whereby the heavens are almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the mountains fall in ruins,

(4) Of those who split up their religion (i.e. who left the true Islamic Monotheism), and became sects, [i.e. they invented new things in the religion (Bid'ah ), and followed their vain desires], each sect rejoicing in that which is with it.

(5) The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder (the people of Makkah requested Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم to show them a miracle, so he showed them the splitting of the moon).

(6) And We split the earth in clefts.

(7) When the heaven is split asunder,

(8) And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants).
