(82) Have they not observed what is before them and what is behind them of the sky and the earth? If We will, We can make the earth swallow them, or cause obliteration from the sky to fall on them. Lo! herein surely is a portent for every slave who turneth (to Allah) repentant.

(83) (The people of the city) said: We augur ill of you. If ye desist not, we shall surely stone you, and grievous torture will befall you at our hands.

(84) Lo! thy Lord is surely One;

(85) And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell.

(86) But they denied him, so they surely will be haled forth (to the doom)

(87) He said: Then, by Thy might, I surely will beguile them every one,

(88) surely pure religion is for Allah only. And those who choose protecting friends beside Him (say): We worship them only that they may bring us near unto Allah. Lo! Allah will judge between them concerning that wherein they differ. Lo! Allah guideth not him who is a liar, an ingrate.

(89) Lo! the Hour is surely coming, there is no doubt thereof; yet most of mankind believe not.

(90) When their messengers came unto them from before them and behind them, saying: Worship none but Allah! they said: If our Lord had willed, He surely would have sent down angels (unto us), so lo! we are disbelievers in that wherewith ye have been sent.
