(56) He it is Who caused those who disbelieved of the followers of the Book to go forth from their homes at the first banishment you did not think that they would go forth, while they were certain that their fortresses would defend them against Allah; but Allah came to them whence they did not expect, and cast terror into their hearts; they demolished their houses with their own hands and the hands of the believers; therefore take a lesson, O you who have eyes!

(57) Say: He it is Who brought you into being and made for you the ears and the eyes and the hearts: little is it that you give thanks.

(58) And those who disbelieve would almost smite you with their eyes when they hear the reminder, and they say: Most surely he is mad.

(59) Their eyes cast down; disgrace shall overtake them; that is the day which they were threatened with.

(60) And whenever I have called them that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, and persist and are puffed up with pride:
