(41) He saith: My Lord! Judge Thou with truth. Our Lord is the Beneficent, whose help is to be implored against that which ye ascribe (unto Him).
(42) He calleth unto him whose harm is nearer than his benefit; verily an evil patron and verily an evil friend!
(43) whose hearts fear when Allah is mentioned, and the patient of whatever may befall them, and those who establish worship and who spend of that We have bestowed on them.
(44) That He may make that which the devil proposeth a temptation for those in whose hearts is a disease, and those whose hearts are hardened - Lo! the evil-doers are in open schism -
(45) And they said: Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves, and whose folk are servile unto us?
(46) Say: In whose hand is the dominion over all things and He protecteth, while against Him there is no protection, if ye have knowledge?
(47) Then those whose scales are heavy, they are the successful.
(48) And those whose scales are light are those who lose their souls, in hell abiding.
(49) Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The similitude of His light is as a niche wherein is a lamp. The lamp is in a glass. The glass is as it were a shining star. (This lamp is) kindled from a blessed tree, an olive neither of the East nor of the West, whose oil would almost glow forth (of itself) though no fire touched it. Light upon light. Allah guideth unto His light whom He will. And Allah speaketh to mankind in allegories, for Allah is Knower of all things.
(50) Is not He (best) Who created the heavens and the earth, and sendeth down for you water from the sky wherewith We cause to spring forth joyous orchards, whose trees it never hath been yours to cause to grow. Is there any Allah beside Allah? Nay, but they are folk who ascribe equals (unto Him)!
