(31) And when they are called to Allah and His Apostle that he may judge between them, lo! a party of them turn aside.

(32) The response of the believers, when they are invited to Allah and His Apostle that he may judge between them, is only to say: We hear and we obey; and these it is that are the successful.

(33) Therefore judge Thou between me and them with a (just) judgment, and deliver me and those who are with me of the believers.

(34) Surely your Lord will judge between them by his judgment, and He is the Mighty, the knowing.

(35) Or do they who work evil think that they will escape Us? Evil is it that they judge!

(36) Surely your Lord will judge between them on the day of resurrection concerning that wherein they differ.

(37) Say: Our Lord will gather us together, then will He judge between us with the truth; and He is the greatest judge, the All-knowing.

(38) What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge?

(39) o Dawood! surely We have made you a ruler in the land; so judge between men with justice and do not follow desire, lest it should lead you astray from the path of Allah; (as for) those who go astray from the path of Allah, they shall surely have a severe punishment because they forgot the day of reckoning.

(40) Now, surely, sincere obedience is due to Allah (alone) and (as for) those who take guardians besides Him, (saying), We do not serve them save that they may make us nearer to Allah, surely Allah will judge between them in that in which they differ; surely Allah does not guide him aright who is a liar, ungrateful.
