(22) Pharaoh said: "O chiefs! no god do I know for you but myself: therefore, O Haman! light me a (kiln to bake bricks) out of clay, and build me a lofty palace, that I may mount up to the god of Moses: but as far as I am concerned, I think (Moses) is a liar!"

(23) And they would say: "Our Lord! We obeyed our chiefs and our great ones, and they misled us as to the (right) Path.

(24) "No knowledge have I of the chiefs on high, when they discuss (matters) among themselves.

(25) We did send Moses aforetime, with Our Signs, to Pharaoh and his chiefs: He said, "I am a messenger of the Lord of the Worlds."

(26) But (Pharaoh) turned back with his chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!"
