(11) And Noah, when he cried of old, We heard his prayer and saved him and his household from the great affliction.

(16) Why did not the believers, men and women, when ye heard it, think good of their own own folk, and say: It is a manifest untruth?

(17) Wherefor, when ye heard it, said ye not: It is not for us to speak of this. Glory be to Thee (O Allah)! This is awful calumny.

(18) But when Moses came unto them with Our clear tokens, they said: This is naught but invented magic. We never heard of this among our fathers of old.

(19) And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in pride as if he heard them not, as if there were a deafness in his ears. So give him tidings of a painful doom.

(20) Couldst thou but see when the guilty hang their heads before their Lord, (and say): Our Lord! We have now seen and heard, so send us back; we will do right, now we are sure.
