(1724) Then why do you not (intervene) when (the soul of a dying person) reaches the throat?

(1725) But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, (Tafsir At-Tabari)

(1726) Then why do you not - if you are exempt from the reckoning and recompense (punishment) -

(1727) But if he (the dying person) be of the denying (of the Resurrection), the erring (away from the Right Path of Islamic Monotheism),

(1728) He is the First (nothing is before Him) and the Last (nothing is after Him), the Most High (nothing is above Him) and the Most Near (nothing is nearer than Him). And He is the All-Knower of every thing.

(1729) And what is the matter with you that you believe not in Allah! While the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) invites you to believe in your Lord (Allah); and He (Allah) has indeed taken your covenant, if you are real believers.

(1730) And what is the matter with you that you spend not in the Cause of Allah? And to Allah belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. not equal among you are those who spent and fought before the conquering (of Makkah, with those among you who did so later). Such are higher in degree than those who spent and fought afterwards. But to all Allah has promised the best (reward). And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.
