(441) He had well-nigh led us astray from our gods had we not adhered to them patiently! And they will know, when they see the punishment, who is straying farther off from the path.

(442) Said he: You believe in him before I give you permission; most surely he is the chief of you who taught you the magic, so you shall know: certainly I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and certainly I will crucify you all.

(443) He said: And what knowledge have I of what they do?

(444) And be careful of (your duty to) Him Who has given you abundance of what you know.

(445) And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars.

(446) He said: My Lord knows best what you do.

(447) Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it?

(448) Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing.

(449) Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back.

(450) And most surely you are made to receive the Quran from the Wise, the Knowing Allah.
