(21) And unto those who are Jews, We forbade every (animal) with undivided hoof, and We forbade them the fat of the ox and the sheep except what adheres to their backs or their entrails, or is mixed up with a bone. Thus We recompensed them for their rebellion [committing crimes like murdering the prophets and eating of Riba (usury)]. And verily, We are Truthful.

(22) And your Lord knows best all who are in the heavens and the earth. And indeed, We have preferred some of the prophets above others, and to Dawud (David) We gave the Zabur (Psalms).

(23) (And remember) the Day when We shall call together call human beings with their (respective) Imam [their prophets, or their records of good and bad deeds, or their Holy Books like the Qur'an, the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel), the leaders whom the people followed in this world.]. So whosoever is given his record in his right hand, such will read their records, and they will not be dealt with unjustly in the least.

(24) ['Îsa (Jesus) said]: "And verily Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him (Alone). That is the Straight Path. (Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism which He did ordain for all of His prophets)." [Tafsir At-Tabari]

(25) Those were they unto whom Allah bestowed His Grace from among the prophets, of the offspring of Adam, and of those whom We carried (in the ship) with Nuh (Noah), and of the offspring of Ibrahim (Abraham) and Israel, and from among those whom We guided and chose. When the Verses of the Most Gracious (Allah) were recited unto them, they fell down prostrate and weeping.

(26) Nay, they say: "These (revelations of the Qur'an which are revealed to Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) are mixed up false dreams! Nay, he has invented them! - Nay, he is a poet! Let him then bring us an Ayah (sign as a proof) like the ones (prophets) the former were sent (with)!"

(27) And if they belie you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), so did belie before them, the people of Nuh (Noah), 'Ad and Thamud, (their prophets).

(28) And (remember) when We took from the prophets their covenant, and from you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), and from Nuh (Noah), Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses), and 'Îsa (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary). We took from them a strong covenant.

(29) That He may ask the truthful (Allah's Messengers and His prophets) about their truth (i.e. the conveyance of Allah's Message that which they were charged with). And He has prepared for the disbelievers a painful torment (Hell-fire).

(30) There is no blame on the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) in that which Allah has made legal for him. That has been Allah's Way with those who have passed away of (the prophets of) old. And the Command of Allah is a decree determined.
