And you were taught what you did not know, (neither) you nor your fathers. Say: Allah then leave them sporting in their vain discourses.

(42) And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah, or says: It has been revealed to me; while nothing has been revealed to him, and he who says: I can reveal the like of what Allah has revealed? and if you had seen when the unjust shall be in the agonies of death and the angels shall spread forth their hands: Give up your souls; today shall you be recompensed with an ignominious chastisement because you spoke against Allah other than the truth and (because) you showed pride against His communications.

(43) And they make the jinn associates with Allah, while He created them, and they falsely attribute to Him sons and daughters without knowledge; glory be to Him, and highly exalted is He above what they ascribe (to Him).

(44) This is because your Lord would not destroy towns unjustly while their people were negligent.

(45) And how many a town that We destroyed, so Our punishment came to it by night or while they slept at midday.

(46) He said: What hindered you so that you did not prostrate when I commanded you? He said: I am better than he: Thou hast created me of fire, while him Thou didst create of dust.

(47) And for every nation there is a doom, so when their doom is come they shall not remain behind the least while, nor shall they go before.

(48) Then We gave them good in the place of evil until they became many and said: Distress and happiness did indeed befall our fathers. Then We took them by surprise while they did not perceive.

(49) What! do the people of the towns then feel secure from Our punishment coming to them by night while they sleep?

(50) What! do the people of the towns feel secure from Our punishment coming to them in the morning while they play?
