(17) "Shall I take besides Him alihah (gods)? If the Most Gracious (Allah) intends me any harm, their intercession will be of no use for me whatsoever, nor can they save me?

(18) And they have taken besides Allah alihah (gods), hoping that they might be helped (by those so-called gods).

(19) And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our alihah (gods) for the sake of a mad poet?"

(20) "Is it a falsehood - alihah (gods) other than Allah - that you desire?
