(42) (We sent them) with Clear Signs and Books of dark prophecies; and We have sent down unto thee (also) the Message; that thou mayest explain clearly to men what is sent for them, and that they may give thought.

(43) When news is brought to one of them, of (the birth of) a female (child), his face darkens, and he is filled with inward grief!

(44) O ye that are sprung from those whom We carried (in the ark) with Noah! Verily he was a devotee most grateful.

(45) Establish regular prayers - at the sun's decline till the darkness of the night, and the morning prayer and reading: for the prayer and reading in the morning carry their testimony.

(46) Those were some of the prophets on whom Allah did bestow His Grace,- of the posterity of Adam, and of those who We carried (in the ark) with Noah, and of the posterity of Abraham and Israel of those whom We guided and chose. Whenever the Signs of (Allah) Most Gracious were rehearsed to them, they would fall down in prostrate adoration and in tears.

(47) And remember Zun-nun, when he departed in wrath: He imagined that We had no power over him! But he cried through the deptHs of darkness, "There is no god but thou: glory to thee: I was indeed wrong!"

(48) So We inspired him (with this message): "Construct the ark within Our sight and under Our guidance: then when comes Our Command, and the fountains of the earth gush forth, take thou on board pairs of every species, male and female, and thy family- except those of them against whom the Word has already gone forth: And address Me not in favour of the wrong-doers; for they shall be drowned (in the Flood).

(49) And when thou hast embarked on the ark - thou and those with thee,- say: "Praise be to Allah, Who has saved us from the people who do wrong."

(50) And say: "O my Lord! enable me to disembark with thy blessing: for Thou art the Best to enable (us) to disembark."
