(31) That is because Allah - He is the Truth (the only True God of all that exists, Who has no partners or rivals with Him), and what they (the polytheists) invoke besides Him, it is Batil (falsehood). And verily, Allah - He is the Most High, the Most Great.

(32) invoke not loudly this day! Certainly you shall not be helped by Us.

(33) And indeed We seized them with punishment, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor did they invoke (Allah) with submission to Him.

(36) So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you should be among those who receive punishment.

(37) And invoke not any other ilah (god) along with Allah: La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He). Everything will perish save His Face. His is the Decision, and to Him you (all) shall be returned.

(38) Verily, Allah knows what things they invoke instead of Him. He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

(39) And when they embark on a ship, they invoke Allah, making their Faith pure for Him only: but when He brings them safely to land, behold, they give a share of their worship to others .

(40) That is because Allah, He is the Truth, and that which they invoke besides Him is Al-Batil (falsehood, Satan and all other false deities); and that Allah, He is the Most High, the Most Great.
