(34) Hast thou not seen how thy Lord hath spread the shade - And if He willed He could have made it still - then We have made the sun its pilot;

(35) The folk of lot denied the messengers (of Allah),

(36) When their brother lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)?

(37) They said: If thou cease not, O lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast.

(38) So they plotted a plot: and We plotted a plot, while they perceived not.

(39) Then see the nature of the consequence of their plotting, for lo! We destroyed them and their people, every one.

(40) And lot! when he said unto his folk: Will ye commit abomination knowingly?
