(1) And let not those who disbelieve suppose that they can outstrip (Allah's Purpose). Lo! they cannot escape.

(5) And those who accuse honourable women but bring not four witnesses, scourge them (with) eighty stripes and never (afterward) accept their testimony - They indeed are evil-doers -

(6) Or do those who do ill-deeds imagine that they can outstrip Us? Evil (for them) is that which they decide.

(7) Then We gave the Scripture as inheritance unto those whom We elected of Our bondmen. But of them are some who wrong themselves and of them are some who are lukewarm, and of them are some who outstrip (others) through good deeds, by Allah's leave. That is the great favour!

(8) A token unto them is night. We strip it of the day, and lo! they are in darkness.

(9) It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor doth the night outstrip the day. They float each in an orbit.

(10) And when thou seest them their figures please thee; and if they speak thou givest ear unto their speech. (They are) as though they were blocks of wood in striped cloaks. They deem every shout to be against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. Allah confound them! How they are perverted!
