(21) Their apostles said: Is there doubt about Allah, the Maker of the heavens and the earth? He invites you to forgive you your faults and to respite you till an appointed term. They said: You are nothing but mortals like us; you wish to turn us away from what our fathers used to worship; bring us therefore some clear authority.

(22) And the earth-- We have spread it forth and made in it firm mountains and caused to grow in it of every suitable thing.

(23) But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance.

(24) Those whom the angels cause to die while they are unjust to themselves. Then would they offer submission: We used not to do any evil. Aye! surely Allah knows what you did.

(25) And they shall tender submission to Allah on that day; and what they used to forge shall depart from them.

(26) Both these gardens yielded their fruits, and failed not aught thereof, and We caused a river to gush forth in their midst,

(27) So they went on until when they came to the people of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused to entertain them as guests. Then they found in it a wall which was on the point of falling, so he put it into a right state. (Musa) said: If you had pleased, you might certainly have taken a recompense for it.

(28) And truly We showed him Our signs, all of them, but he rejected and refused.

(29) And what caused you to hasten from your people, O Musa?

(30) He said: O son of my mother! seize me not by my beard nor by my head; surely I was afraid lest you should say: You have caused a division among the children of Israel and not waited for my word.
