(21) And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man (adam) from dried (sounding) clay of altered mud.

(22) "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him."

(23) And (remember) when We said to the angels: "Prostrate yourselves unto adam." They prostrated themselves except Iblis (Satan). He said: "Shall I prostrate myself to one whom You created from clay?"

(24) And indeed We have honoured the Children of adam, and We have carried them on land and sea, and have provided them with At-Tayyibat (lawful good things), and have preferred them above many of those whom We have created with a marked preferment.

(25) His companion said to him during the talk with him: "Do you disbelieve in Him Who created you out of dust (i.e. your father adam), then out of Nutfah (mixed semen drops of male and female discharge), then fashioned you into a man?

(26) And (remember) when We said to the angels: "Prostrate yourselves unto adam." So they prostrated themselves except Iblis (Satan). He was one of the jinn; he disobeyed the Command of his Lord. Will you then take him (Iblis) and his offspring as protectors and helpers rather than Me while they are enemies to you? What an evil is the exchange for the Zalimun (polytheists, and wrong-doers).

(27) Those were they unto whom Allah bestowed His Grace from among the Prophets, of the offspring of adam, and of those whom We carried (in the ship) with Nuh (Noah), and of the offspring of Ibrahim (Abraham) and Israel, and from among those whom We guided and chose. When the Verses of the Most Gracious (Allah) were recited unto them, they fell down prostrate and weeping.

(28) And indeed We made a covenant with adam before, but he forgot, and We found on his part no firm will-power.

(29) And (remember) when We said to the angels: "Prostrate yourselves to adam." They prostrated themselves (all) except Iblis (Satan) he refused.

(30) Then We said: "O adam! Verily, this is an enemy to you and to your wife. So let him not get you both out of Paradise, so that you will be distressed.
