(161) He it is Who created you from dust, then from a small lifegerm, then from a clot, then He brings you forth as a child, then that you may attain your maturity, then that you may be old-- and of you there are some who are caused to die before-- and that you may reach an appointed term, and that you may understand.
(162) He it is Who gives life and brings death, so when He decrees an affair, He only says to it: Be, and it is.
(163) And certainly We sent apostles before you: there are some of them that We have mentioned to you and there are others whom We have not mentioned to you, and it was not meet for an apostle that he should bring a sign except with Allah's permission, but when the command of Allah came, judgment was given with truth, and those who treated (it) as a lie were lost.
(164) (The warner) said: What! even if I bring to you a better guide than that on which you found your fathers? They said: Surely we are unbelievers in that with which you are sent.
(165) Therefore keep waiting for the day when the heaven shall bring an evident smoke,
(166) And that do not exalt yourselves against Allah, surely I will bring to you a clear authority:
(167) So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful.
(168) And when Our clear communications are recited to them, their argument is no other than that they say: bring our fathers (back) if you are truthful.
(169) Say: Have you considered what you call upon besides Allah? Show me what they have created of the earth, or have they a share in the heavens? bring me a book before this or traces of knowledge, if you are truthful.
(170) And We have enjoined on man doing of good to his parents; with trouble did his mother bear him and with trouble did she bring him forth; and the bearing of him and the weaning of him was thirty months; until when he attains his maturity and reaches forty years, he says: My Lord! grant me that I may give thanks for Thy favor which Thou hast bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do good which pleases Thee and do good to me in respect of my offspring; surely I turn to Thee, and surely I am of those who submit.
