(47) Say (O Muhammad): I am forbidden to worship those unto whom ye cry beside Allah since there have come unto me clear proofs from my Lord, and I am commanded to surrender to the Lord of the Worlds.

(48) And those to whom they used to cry of old have failed them, and they perceive they have no place of refuge.

(49) And they cry: O master! Let thy Lord make an end of us. He saith: Lo! here ye must remain.

(50) And those unto whom they cry instead of Him possess no power of intercession, saving him who beareth witness unto the Truth knowingly.
