(1) Indeed, those who devour the property of orphans unjustly are only consuming into their bellies fire. And they will be burned in a Blaze.

(2) [They are] avid listeners to falsehood, devourers of [what is] unlawful. So if they come to you, [O Muhammad], judge between them or turn away from them. And if you turn away from them - never will they harm you at all. And if you judge, judge between them with justice. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.

(3) And you see many of them hastening into sin and aggression and the devouring of [what is] unlawful. How wretched is what they have been doing.

(4) Why do the rabbis and religious scholars not forbid them from saying what is sinful and devouring what is unlawful? How wretched is what they have been practicing.

(5) And We inspired to Moses, "Throw your staff," and at once it devoured what they were falsifying.

(6) O you who have believed, indeed many of the scholars and the monks devour the wealth of people unjustly and avert [them] from the way of Allah. And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah - give them tidings of a painful punishment.

(7) Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified.

(8) And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether,
