(12) These our people have taken gods besides Him; why do they not produce any clear authority in their support? Who is then more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah?

(13) So we too will produce before you magic like it, therefore make between us and you an appointment, which we should not break, (neither) we nor you, (in) a central place.

(14) He said: Nay! cast down. then lo! their cords and their rods-- it was imaged to him on account of their magic as if they were running.

(15) And thus have We sent it down an Arabic Quran, and have distinctly set forth therein of threats that they may guard (against evil) or that it may produce a reminder for them.

(16) On the day when We will roll up heaven like the rolling up of the scroll for writings, as We originated the first creation, (so) We shall reproduce it; a promise (binding on Us); surely We will bring it about.

(17) And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat.

(18) So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent,

(19) So they cast down their cords and their rods and said: By Firon's power, we shall most surely be victorious.

(20) Or, Who originates the creation, then reproduces it and Who gives you sustenance from the heaven and the earth. Is there a god With Allah? Say: Bring your proof if you are truthful.
