(52) And if We had so willed, We could have given every soul its guidance, but the word from Me concerning evildoers took effect: that I will fill hell with the jinn and mankind together.

(53) O ye who believe! Guard your duty to Allah, and speak words straight to the point;

(54) But they said: Our Lord! Make the stage between our journeys longer. And they wronged themselves, therefore We made them bywords (in the land) and scattered them abroad, a total scattering. Lo! herein verily are portents for each steadfast, grateful (heart).

(55) Whoso desireth power (should know that) all power belongeth to Allah. Unto Him good words ascend, and the pious deed doth He exalt; but those who plot iniquities, theirs will be an awful doom; and the plotting of such (folk) will come to naught.

(56) The word from a Merciful Lord (for them) is: Peace!

(57) To warn whosoever liveth, and that the word may be fulfilled against the disbelievers.

(58) And those who read (the word) for a reminder,

(59) Now the word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to taste (the doom).

(60) Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)?
