(1551) But indeed men before them rejected (My warning): then how (terrible) was My rejection (of them)?

(1552) Do they not observe the birds above them, spreading their wings and folding them in? None can uphold them except (Allah) Most Gracious: Truly (Allah) Most Gracious: Truly it is He that watches over all things.

(1553) At length, when they see it close at hand, grieved will be the faces of the Unbelievers, and it will be said (to them): "This is (the promise fulfilled), which ye were calling for!"

(1554) Verily We have tried them as We tried the People of the Garden, when they resolved to gather the fruits of the (garden) in the morning.

(1555) Said one of them, more just (than the rest): "Did I not say to you, 'Why not glorify (Allah)?'"

(1556) Ask thou of them, which of them will stand surety for that!

(1557) Or have they some "Partners" (in Allahhead)? Then let them produce their "partners", if they are truthful!

(1558) Their eyes will be cast down,- ignominy will cover them; seeing that they had been summoned aforetime to bow in adoration, while they were whole, (and had refused).

(1559) Then leave Me alone with such as reject this Message: by degrees shall We punish them from directions they perceive not.

(1560) A (long) respite will I grant them: truly powerful is My Plan.
